- Are in a mid-to-late stage of their development (product is available to market)
- Offer equity investments resulting in a significant stake

- Posses a competitive advantage based on a strong technology base
- Have a credible growth strategy and the potential to become a market leader in their sector
- Focus on large international markets
- Allow for an exit strategy via an IPO and/or a trade sale within the next 3-6 years following the investment
